This project consists of widening I-75 in both directions, starting at the north end of the District 5 I-75 Widening project to SR 44. In the interchange, there is the merge of the northbound Turnpike to I-75 and the exit to SR 44. There is a very congestive weave to be navigated by motorists.
Construction for Turnpike northbound ramp will be channelized for a safer exit to SR 44. Conversely, for the truckers and others at SR 44 which have to traverse south on the I-75 southbound which have to make an abrupt weave to southbound Turnpike, the existing ramp will be extended to carry traffic southbound I-75 and a new ramp will be created as a flyover over I-75 to safely conduct traffic to the Turnpike, southbound.
Existing bridge on I-75, northbound and southbound over SR 44 will be modified inside to inside closing the longitudinal space. The ramp will be lengthened northbound from SR 44 to enter I-75. Drainage modifications and ponds to construct.
