Work Groups & Types of Work

Bridge Inspection (FDOT Group 5)

The on-site inspection, load rating, and preparation of bridge inspection reports in accordance with approved federal and state statutes, policies, guidelines, and standards.

5.4 — Bridge Load Rating: The process of determining the live load capacity of a structure.

CEI (FDOT Group 10)

The monitoring and inspection of work required under various construction contracts, including coordination with other public agencies, utilities, and affected property owners.

10.1 — Roadway CEI: Administration and inspection of construction contracts on rural, municipal, urban, and interstate facilities, including necessary minor bridges.

10.3 — Construction Materials Inspection: Inspection and investigation of highway materials or products, with recording, analysis, and reporting of results at mines, quarries, mills, and project sites.

10.4 — Minor Bridge & Miscellaneous Structures CEI: CEI of conventional non-standard box culverts, retaining walls, sound barriers, and structural supports for signs, luminaries, and traffic signals.
